Living with HIPS (Home Information Packs)
From 14th December 2007 all properties will need a HIP when sold. The government intend that the HIP should provide comprehensive information to a buyer when they purchase a property. At the moment the HIP does not require a survey but does contain information about how energy efficient the property is, what and where it is, as well as basic search information.
The cost of the HIP has reduced dramatically since its introduction but we are concerned that there are misconceptions about the costs of HIPS and this is having the effect of reducing the numbers of properties coming onto the market. We have therefore decided, for a limited time period, to offer a FREE HIP when we are instructed as sole agents. This is also offered on a no sale no fee basis - therefore should you decide not to sell for whatever reason there will be no charge.
