Get the most from the different ways of searching for property

We now have three ways of searching for property. We have expanded our search capabilities because of the restictive nature of just price and location. There are often instances where properties will be overlooked simply because they fall just outside of an abitrary area. Google maps very easily gets around this. Similarly the Google text search can reveal properties which have the important characteristics for you and alternatives may appear which might have previously not been shown. We hope you find the new capabilities useful.

Google Maps will display a graphic representation of our local area with house-shaped icons representing the location of the different properties.

The map can be zoomed in and out and moved in any direction by either click and "dragging" the hand icon on the screen or using the direction arrows at the top left of the map. We would recommend moving the map around as we do cover a wide area and sometimed there will be other properties that on occasion do not appear on the opening screen.

You can click on the icons below the map to remove the "tick" in order to show only the styles of property you are interested in. i.e. detached, semi, apartment etc.You can also specify a price range and/or the number of bedrooms thereby further filtering the selection.

Leaving the cursor to "hover" over an icon will reveal an address and price (if set to display). A single click will bring up a box that shows a single photograph of the property and some further information. Clicking on the "full details" link will take you to the web page for that property where more photographs will be displayed and where you can download the full PDF details.

In addition to the map display it is possible to view the same information laid over satelite photgraphs of the area and/or a hybrid display of both the map and satelite view.

NB:- Please note that the icon placement on google maps is according to postcodes. Whilst this is usually fine for urban properties we have noticed that on occasion the location can be misrepresented on some of the rural properties where a single postcode can cover a wide area.

Google Text - Words entered in the search box will be compared to the text that we have written for the web site and matched properties will be displayed. This is a useful tool for properties with particular characteristics that are important to you. i.e. "character rural" entered in the search box will return instances where character and rural have been used anywhere in the description. Just experiment and see what comes up.

Price, location and no. of bedrooms - Still a great way to search for property. With properties displayed that match the three criteria that you specify.
